A Jazzy Christmas with The Jefferson Faculty

The Jefferson Faculty estuvo recientemente en el espacio del Fiesta Sunset Jazz y dejó a todos fascinados con una impresionante entrega de standards de Jazz, Blues y más. A petición de los que estuvieron y los que oyeron sobre ellos y no pudieron estar – aquí los tienen envueltos de regalo navideño!!!

La agrupación nace en el 2010, con piezas de jazz clásico y pop contemporáneo. La idea original fue del vocalista de la banda; Anthony Jefferson, quien fue seleccionando una serie de músicos que tenían el talento y la pasión por la música que él buscaba, para formar este grupo; ellos son: Jonathan Pina Duluc (saxofón), Smarlly Belliard (piano), Emil García (batería) y Euris Belliard (guitarra bajo). Desde que empezaron a tocar, han trabajado con material original cautivando entusiasmo en diferentes públicos.

Jefferson es nativo de Nueva Orleans, empezó a cantar en su niñez, alimentado por un ambiente rico en: Blues, Jazz y R&B, que refinó más adelante estudiando repertorio clásico en el Instituto de Artes de California, con Paul Vorwek y siguiendo en la afamada Berklee College of Music. Antes de formar su propia banda, Anthony compartió el escenario con artistas tales como Mark Rapp, Wille Jones III, Mark Shelby, Bobby Wilson y Brent Rose, para nombrar algunos. Como resultado de su dedicación y perfeccionamiento musical, lanzaron el disco A Jazz Retrospect, con una selección de canciones armoniosas que deleitan los sentidos.

English Version: The Jefferson Faculty was formed in 2010, playing classical jazz and contemporary pop. The original ideas for this project were put together by the band´s vocalist, Anthony Jefferson, who started searching for and selecting a number of musicians who had the talent and the passion for the music he wanted to perform. He found them and they are: saxophonist Jonathan Piña Duluc, pianist Smarlly Belliard, drummer Emil Garcia and bassist Euris Belliard. Since they started playing, they have worked with original material captivating enthusiasm from diverse types of audiences. As a result of their dedication and musical refinement, they have just released the album A Jazz Retrospect, with a harmonious selection of songs that delight the senses.

Anthony, a native of New Orleans, began singing in his childhood, in an environment rich in: Blues, Jazz and R & B, refining it later by studying classical repertoire at the Institute of Arts in California, with Paul Vorwek and continuing at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Prior to forming his own band, Anthony shared the stage with artists such as Mark Rapp, Wille Jones 3rd, Mark Shelby, Bobby Wilson and Brent Rose, just to name a few.
